CBC Anti-Union Comments‏

Monday morning on CBC News Now business commentator Kevin O’Leary stated when talking about a possible strike at Canada Post:

1. If unionized workers don’t want to work they should fire them and hire  someone who does

2. I blame unions for the destruction of the auto industry in Canada and Detroit

3. It’s time to finish unions once and for all.

These are by no means all of the anti union statements that he made, just an example.

Please call the CBC today and file a complaint about Kevin O’Leary’s anti union animus:

  1. Unions are good except when Unions get to big. When they are big they act like a company themselves and don't care about their membership; it's about getting income (union dues)...they become a negative for the economy. We (customers) end up paying more and get less (airlines/long shoreman/etc).

  2. Dear Anonymous. You are misinformed. I have met leadership from many different unions, big and small. Without exception it's about the members and making sure they do right by them. They care. As for getting less, management has the right to mismanage as they see fit, and they often do. Workers perform the jobs. Management makes the decisions. It seems when they make bad decisions, they get bonuses and inflated salaries. Members get the shaft. Strong economies have strong union density, look at Germany.
